PHILOSOPHY: Feminist Philosophy Part-time Lecturer (non-tenure-track) The Department of Philosophy at Tufts University is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach a course in Feminist Philosophy in the Fall of 2024. The course will meet twice a week, each time for 75 minutes. The instructor of the course is also expected to be available to the students outside of class, at least two hours a week. The aim of the course is to introduce the students to key concepts, ideas, debates, and texts in Feminist Philosophy, as well as to the historical development of the field, while at the same time relating those issues to the students’ own experiences. ABD or PhD in Philosophy required, with evidence of serious interest in Feminist Philosophy. Teaching experience and evidence of successful teaching are also required. All applications are submitted via Interfolio, at https://apply.interfolio.com/141651. Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, a sample syllabus, and two letters of recommendation, uploaded directly by recommenders to Interfolio, at least one of which addresses the applicant’s teaching ability. If available, please also submit teaching evaluations or other evidence of teaching skills. Our department is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and candidates’ materials should address how they will promote these priorities in their professional career. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. To receive full consideration applicants should apply by April 1, 2024. Please address questions via e-mail, using the subject line “Feminist Philosophy Search,” to department administrator Jaouad Elkamouss: [email protected]. All offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a background check. Tufts University, founded in 1852, prioritizes quality teaching, highly competitive basic and applied research, and a commitment to active citizenship locally, regionally, and globally. Tufts University has also committed to becoming an anti-racist institution and prides itself on the continuous improvement of diversity, equity and inclusion work. Current and prospective employees of the university are expected to have and continuously develop skill in, and disposition for, positively engaging with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students. |
