Job description

The Department of Classics, Philosophy, and Religion at the University of Mary Washington invites applications to teach three courses in the fall: PHIL 151B Introductory Logic, PHIL 201 Ancient Greek Philosophy, and PHIL 302 Hume & Kant. The courses may all be taught by one individual or more than one (please indicate which courses you are applying to teach). These courses are scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday. The area of specialization (AOS) should be in the History of Philosophy, preferably in Ancient Greek Philosophy, with competency (AOC) in Early Modern European Philosophy. We anticipate the need to cover two or three courses in the spring, one of which will be PHIL 202 Early Modern Philosophy. Depending on AOC and applicant interest, other courses in the spring might include Feminist Philosophy, Philosophy of Race, Phenomenology, Contemplative Studies, or Advanced Logic. Please submit CV and evidence of teaching effectiveness to Joe Romero, Professor and Chair, Department of Classics, Philosophy, and Religion via email: [email protected]
