Resident Assistant Professor

Description

The Department of Philosophy at Creighton University invites applications for a non-tenure- track resident assistant professor with a teaching competence in ethics for a one-year appointment. We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 4-4 course load teaching introductory philosophy and ethics.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will provide evidence of the following:

• A PhD in philosophy is preferred, ABD will be considered.
• Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision-making in support of students' goals, success, wellness, and needs.
• Evidence of excellent college-level teaching is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations.
• Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others.
