Job description

St. Mary’s University invites applications for a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy beginning August 2024 for a one-year appointment. Area of Specialization: Open, Area of Competence: Open. Candidates for the position should have a PhD in Philosophy from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach four classes in fall semesters and four classes in spring semesters for the Department of Philosophy. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching introduction to philosophy and ethics, both of which are required courses for St. Mary’s core curriculum.  Additional duties include holding office hours and advising students. Research and publications are valued but not required for this position.
