Job description |
The Opportunity The Department of Philosophy houses three B.A. programs – Philosophy, Humanities and Cultural Studies, and Religion and Cultural Studies. It also has two graduate certificate programs; one in theoretical and applied ethics and the other in cognitive sciences. In addition, the department contributes to the new undergraduate certificate program in AI and Big Data Ethics. The Department includes undergraduate certificate programs in cognitive sciences and interfaith dialogue. The College of Arts and Humanities is composed of five departments and two schools. Interdisciplinary collaboration occurs and is encouraged in the Department of Philosophy, in the College of Arts and Humanities, and with other colleges at UCF. Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree (for instructor) or terminal degree (for lecturer) in philosophy or a humanities discipline with emphasis on cultural studies from an accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach in philosophy and in humanities and cultural studies, primarily at the GEP level; at least one year teaching experience or its equivalent at the college/university level in philosophy and/or humanities; and ability to teach upper-level undergraduate courses in or related to the candidate’s area(s) of specialization. Experience teaching online is beneficial.
