Department: Gonzaga In Florence Position #: FL0673 Hire Term: Spring 2025 Start Date: January 2, 2025 Job Title: Docente, Livello 7 (ANINSEI)– AT, Philosophy Classification: Contratto a Tempo Determinato, renewable Appointment Percentage: 100% Contract Term: 9 months Hiring Salary: Commensurate with education and experience Applicant Reviewer: Silia Passeri Search Committee: TBD Open Date: ASAP Close Date: September 15, 2024 _____________________________________________________________________________________ Job Purpose: Gonzaga in Florence, the global gateway of Gonzaga University, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position, starting by January 2025. This position is located in Florence, Italy. Applicants must have current permission to work in Italy or in Europe to be considered for this position. We seek candidates with an Area of Specialization in Ethics, and an Area of Competence in Applied Ethics including, but not limited to, Ethics of mobility, Sustainable and Ethical tourism, Ethical destination management, Ethics of the city, or related subfields. This position will contribute to the development of an academic program in Destination Management Gonzaga's core curriculum includes Reasoning (PHIL 101), Philosophy of Human Nature (PHIL 201), and Ethics (PHIL 301). Successful applicants will teach 24 credits per year and will assume ongoing responsibility for teaching Ethics, for which they should include a description of their interest in and approach to this course in their teaching statement, as well as one course in their area of specialization, that could fulfill the Core Integration Seminar (CIS) requirement.
