Job description

The Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University invites applications for one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin July 1, 2025. AOS: Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, or Asian Philosophy. AOC: open. The teaching load is two courses per semester, with advising and service work. The position comes with research funds and full benefits. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy or related area by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter, and must demonstrate potential for excellence in research and teaching.

[Pay Range: $107,400 - $239,000] Actual salary offers in the College of Arts and Sciences will be based on education, experience, discipline, and relevant skills.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
