Job description

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a PhD position in practical philosophy commencing from January 1st 2025. The position is fully funded for a fixed-term period of four years, with 25% teaching.

The PhD position will be part of the Practical Philosophy Research Group, and the proposed project must be within practical philosophy, broadly construed. This includes moral, political, social, and legal philosophy, as well as feminist and non-western perspectives within these areas.

In assessing the applications, emphasis is placed on the academic quality and feasibility of the project and the academic qualifications of the candidates. The proposed project must fit within the Practical Philosophy Research Group. Further emphasis is also placed on strategic considerations, motivation, and the applicant's personal eligibility.
