Job description

The position is for an appointment to the Perspectives Program, an interdisciplinary core program of four courses that studies major works of Western culture. We are specifically seeking those who can teach and contribute to the curriculum and pedagogy of Modernism and the Arts, a year-long, twelve credit course in which students study developments across the expressive arts, with particular focus on the distinctive features that appear in twentieth- and twenty-first century European, American and global culture. The ability to teach Perspectives on Western Culture, also offered by the Perspectives Program, is strongly preferred.

Applicants must have a record of excellence in teaching philosophy, as well as a demonstrated commitment to scholarship. In addition to a 3-3 course load, the position includes responsibility for undergraduate advising within the context of Boston College’s commitment to formative liberal arts education.  Women, persons of color, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.
