Job description |
The Philosophy Department of Fairfield University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position to begin September 2025 pending budget approval. AOS: Philosophy of Law AOC: Open, although the department has needs in Social and Political Philosophy. Candidates should also be prepared to teach Introduction to Philosophy as well as upper division courses in their area of specialization. The Philosophy Department is a significant contributor to the University core curriculum. Candidates are invited to consult the Magis core description on our website and to address their interest and ability to teach in any of its signature elements. https://fairfield.edu/academics/core-curriculum/index.html The teaching load is 3 courses per semester. Salary is competitive. Qualifications A Ph.D. in Philosophy is required by the time of the appointment. Teaching experience is necessary. Application instructions Applications are accepted online.
