Job description |
Assistant Teaching Professor. Position begins August 16, 2025. Ph.D. required by time of appointment. 4/4 teaching load. AOS: Open; AOC Open, but we have some interest in those who can offer perspectives on women’s issues, gender, and/or religion within the Western canon and beyond. Successful candidate will serve half-time as a faculty member (promotion-track but without tenure) in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and half-time as a Faculty Fellow in the Shackouls Honors College. For the Department of Philosophy and Religion, the successful candidate will develop and teach a range of undergraduate courses in their field of expertise and perform standard service roles. Research activity is encouraged and supported but is not required. For the Honors College, they will teach seminars in the liberal arts tradition and perform service roles related to instruction and pedagogy. Faculty Fellows will teach core texts from philosophy, literature, history, political science; teach innovative courses as part of the unique Honors multi-disciplinary curriculum; mentor Honors students from a variety of different majors, with opportunities to supervise Honors theses; and attend regular Honors events.
