Call for Applications for a Senior Academic Position in the School of Philosophy Linguistics and Science Studies

The School of Philosophy, Linguistics and Science Studies at Tel-Aviv University is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in the field of Philosophy, beginning October 2025.

 Successful candidates are required to demonstrate a record of excellence in research and teaching in one of the following areas of specialization:

    - Early Modern Philosophy 

    - Kant’s Philosophy and itֿs Legacy in Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries


 Job Description and Requirements:

The School of Philosophy, Linguistics and Science Studies at Tel Aviv University sets the highest value on excellence in research and teaching. Applicants must demonstrate expertise and excellence in one of the fields specified above in their research, academic publications, and teaching performance. The position also requires teaching flexibility, a commitment to apply for competitive research grants, active engagement in the academic community, participation in the department’s teaching and administrative duties, and a commitment to diversity.

The position's responsibilities include teaching required and elective courses in the candidate’s area of specialization at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates may also be expected to teach general introductory courses in philosophy. Faculty members are further expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students pursuing M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.

The principal language of instruction in the department is Hebrew, but some courses are taught in English. Candidates who do not speak Hebrew will be expected to acquire the ability to teach in Hebrew within two years of their appointment.

Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. at the start of their employment.

Salary and employment conditions will conform to Tel Aviv University regulations. The appointment procedure will be carried out according to the rules and regulations of Tel-Aviv University authorities and is subject to the approval of the University authorities.
