Job description

Job Summary 

The Philosophy department invites applications for a two-year Limited Term Appointment (LTA) for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years. The successful applicant will be expected to teach PHIL 100: Critical Thinking and additional courses for a complete course load of seven sections per year. The combination of additional courses for this position may include PHIL 210: Introduction to Political Philosophy; PHIL 309: Feminist Philosophy; PHIL 315: Contemporary Ethical Theory; and PHIL 318: Environmental Ethics.

Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components. Regular attendance at department meetings, input to departmental discussions, and service related to student recruiting and mentoring is expected.

Qualifications 

The successful applicant must have a PhD in Philosophy, or evidence of completion by the time the appointment commences. In addition, evidence of successful teaching experience is required.
