Assistant Professor

The Chair of Metaphysics in the Faculty of Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, and Religious Studies at LMU Munich invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (E3). This is a fixed term (non-tenure track) postdoctoral position that runs for three years, with a possible extension to an additional three years thereafter. The starting date is September 1, 2025.

Candidates are required to have a doctorate in philosophy, with an AOS in Metaphysics. The ability to lecture in German is preferred, but not required.

The position comes with a course load of 2 courses per semester (5 Semesterwochenstunden), which will include offerings at both the Bachelors and Masters level. In addition, the candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program in Metaphysics, as well as participate in the group activities of the Metaphysics Chair. This will include some administrative tasks, such as the organization of workshops, teaching, and reading groups.
