Affiliated Instructor in Philosophy

The Philosophy program at Wheaton College seeks applicants to teach four courses in the 2025-2026 academic year due to a sabbatical leave. While the program ideally seeks an instructor to teach a course load of four courses, applications from those interested in teaching a reduced load will also be considered. The courses are Phil 121 (Intro Social and Political Philosophy), Phil 125 (Intro Symbolic Logic), Phil 321 (Advanced Contemporary Social and Political Philosophy), and Phil 295 (Special Topics). The Phil 295 topic should be in the instructor’s Area of Specialization or Area of Competence, complement the offerings in the Philosophy Program, and/or meet needs in programs like Legal Studies or others.   To apply, submit via Wheaton’s online application system the following: 1) a cover letter, 2) curriculum vitae, 3) statement of teaching philosophy, and 4) list of references.
