Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Pontifical College Josephinum invites applications for a teaching position in Philosophy beginning in the fall of 2014.  The Josephinum is a Roman Catholic Seminary and candidates for the position must support the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the seminary's mission to prepare men for the priesthood.  Candidates must possess a doctorate in philosophy and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.  The expected teaching load for this position will be 3 courses per semester.  Area of specialization: open.  Area of competence: St. Thomas Aquinas.  Preference will be given to those with a broad understanding of the history of philosophy.  The successful candidate should have a licentiate or a doctorate in philosophy from an ecclesiastical faculty.  If candidates have an ecclesiastical licentiate in philosphy but not an ecclesiastical doctorate, they must also have a doctorate in philosophy from a university recognized by the Holy See.  Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and other credentials.  Please send a letter of interest including salary history and a personal statement expressing a desire and ability to support the mission of the institution together with a curriculum vitae, writing sample, graduate transcripts, and the names of three references who will provide letters of recommendation to the following address: the Pontifical College Josephinum, 7625 N.High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43235, ATTN: Academic Dean of the College of Liberal Arts or e-mail the material to [email protected].  All replies will be kept in strict confidence.  The Pontifical College Josephinum is an EEO Employer.  Appplications will be considered until February 10, 2014.
