Hong Kong Baptist University Junior Research Fellow Scheme (JRFS)

Founded in 1962, the Department of Religion and Philosophy under the Academy of Chinese, History, Religion and Philosophy of Hong Kong Baptist University has been at the forefront of promoting the teaching and research of religion, philosophy and ethics in Hong Kong for many years. Our innovative curriculum offers a comprehensive exploration of both Chinese and Western religions. In addition, we incorporate philosophical and social science studies to deepen our understanding of various religious and philosophical traditions, as well as major ethical schools of thought. Collectively, our professors demonstrate a threefold expertise in religious studies, philosophy and ethics. Such expertise is also reflected in their great diversities of research interests and the broad range of courses offered by our colleagues.

We are now inviting candidates with excellent research potentials from the related fields to apply for the Junior Research Fellow Scheme to conduct postdoctoral research at our Department for 2 years (or up to 3 years upon special approval). Those who have obtained or have been conferred a PhD degree or an equivalent qualification on or after 1 January 2022 (that is not more than three years before 2025), or will complete the requirement of a PhD degree or an equivalent qualification by 31 August 2026 are encouraged to apply for this prestigious scheme. The current annual stipend for each successful awardee is about HKD425,000, including the travel allowance at around HKD13,500.
