Director, School of Political Science, Philosophy, and Public Affairs Washington State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Director, School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs (PPPA). Reporting to the Dean, the Director is expected to possess the vision necessary to lead the School as it engages and addresses the problems of the 21st century. The preferred starting date is August 16, 2014. The Director, School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs provides leadership to the School on a day-to-day basis. In addition, the Director must be able to work with faculty and students from multiple disciplines; attract and retain top-tier faculty; enhance existing undergraduate and graduate degree programs; advance the status of the departments in terms of funded research and graduate education; advance PPPA’s vision of engagement and integrate that vision with College and University priorities; maintain a research program; coordinate with school, campus and university leadership to advocate for PPPA; seek funding for the unit; teach classes at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; and supervise high-quality graduate research.
