Job description

Southern Utah University currently offers a Minor and a Major in Philosophy. We are seeking a tenure-track faculty member, at the rank of Assistant Professor, to help build the program. 

Responsibilities: 
- Teach a wide variety of lower and upper division Philosophy classes. AOS: Modern Philosophy, AOC: Metaphysics, Epistemology, or Logic. 

- Teach a 4-4 undergraduate annual load. 

- Service on departmental and university committees as well as participation in related academic and professional organizations. 

- Other duties as assigned by Department Chair or Dean.

Qualifications: 

A Ph.D. in Philosophy is required by start date. 

Proven teaching excellence and evidence of an active research program. 

In accordance with Utah State Code 53A-3-410, appointment to this position is contingent upon the successful passing of a background check.
