 Visiting Assistant Professor

The Department of Philosophy at California State University Fullerton will be hiring 2 Visiting Assistant Professors for 2014-2015. For each position:

AOS: Open.

AOC: Early Modern, or Ancient, or Logic/Critical Thinking, or Applied Ethics.

 Positions

Each position has a 4/4 teaching load. Every effort will be made to keep preps to a maximum of 3/semester. We seek applicants with strong teaching skills who can generate excitement in the classroom.

 Qualifications

• A recent PhD in Philosophy is highly desirable. In exceptional cases, ABD’s in Philosophy will be considered.
• Successful candidates will show promise to be an effective teacher and have a promising research program that builds on current trends in the discipline. 
• Successful candidates should also be able to effectively interact with a wide and diverse range of students and colleagues. 

 Rank and Salary

These are full-time visiting professor positions (non-tenure-track, non-renewable). Salary is expected to be in the mid-$40,000’s.
