Visiting Assistant Professor (Academic Professional Lecturer) (EXPIRED)

The Philosophy Department at the University of Wyoming, in Laramie, Wyoming, is looking to fill a one-year non-tenure track position for Fall 2014/Spring 2015. 

The position would require two sophomore level courses of Natural Resource Ethics/Environmental Ethics in the fall and then a repeat of two sophomore level courses of Natural Resource Ethics/Environmental Ethics in the spring, plus one course in fall and two courses in the spring in  one or more of the following:   metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language.  If the candidate has a Ph.D. , there is the possibility of teaching a graduate seminar in the spring.  Also, one of the two non-ethics courses from the spring semester could be offered in the summer if the candidate wishes.

The candidate must have a proven ability to teach environmental ethics and/or natural resource ethics to environment and natural resource students as well as energy engineering students.  The ability to teach ethics to non-philosophy majors is crucial, as is the ability to work with science and engineering students.  The candidate must also be able to meet the needs of the department in areas related to metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, or philosophy of mind.

The salary is $50,000 with full benefits.

PH.Ds preferred but ABDs that are a really good fit will be considered.
