PhD studentship in Linguistics and Philosophy of language Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages Start Date: 1 October 2014 Vacancy Reference: GP03234 Closing Date: 17:00 (BST), Friday 16 May 2014 Interview date: To be confirmed. Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD position on a research project ‘Expressing the Self: Cultural Diversity and Cognitive Universals’, funded by The Leverhulme Trust offered at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, University of Cambridge. The applicants must have a good Master’s degree (equivalent of first-class distinction) in a relevant area of linguistics (semantics, pragmatics), or philosophy of language, completed by 30 September 2014. The grant covers university fees (including overseas fees if applicable) and maintenance (£13,500 p.a.) for the period of three years. The successful applicant will commence the PhD course in October 2014 and will work with Professor Kasia M. Jaszczolt (Principal Investigator) and Dr Minyao Huang (Research Associate).
