Postdoctoral Associate (Community Engagement)

A Postdoctoral Associate (Community Engagement) position is available in the Department of Philosophy at the University at Buffalo. This position will be supported by the Department of Education Grant P116J250119 “From Campus to Community: Civil Discourse as a Catalyst for Local Civic Renewal” and is renewable for up to three years. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the success of our funded project. Applicants may submit applications for more than one of the Postdoctoral Associate positions funded by this grant (Teaching; Research). A separate application is required for each position and will be reviewed independently.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Teaching: Teach one class per year (in the PPE wheelhouse, broadly construed).
• Service: Help spearhead many of our community engagement projects and on-campus events such as speaker series and workshops.

Expected start date: August 17th, 2026

Duration: Renewable for up to 3 years  

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Philosophy, Political Science, or related discipline; expected completion by August 2026.

Salary:  $70,000/ year
