Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Ancient Philosophy (EXPIRED)

Oxford University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Ancient Philosophy, to work on the project Power Structuralism in Ancient Ontologies, which is hosted by the Faculty of Philosophy, and supported by the European Research Council. The postholder, who will occupy an office in Radcliffe Humanities, will work under the guidance of the Project’s Director, Dr Anna Marmodoro. The Fellowship is fixed-term for 12 months, and is available from 1 January 2015 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The salary will be at grade 7 on the University scale: £29,837 per annum.

 The post-holder will be expected to conduct collaborative and individual research into aspects of Ancient Philosophy that are relevant to the aims of the Project, to publish and disseminate the research results; and to contribute to the Project in other ways, for example, by helping to organise conferences, by supervising the work of doctoral students, and by developing grant applications.

 The successful applicant will have an outstanding record of research in Ancient Philosophy, with evidence of, or evidence of potential for producing, distinguished research that will contribute to the aims of the project. By 1 January 2015, candidates should have received (or have submitted their thesis for) the degree of PhD or equivalent.
