The Department of Philosophy intends to appoint a lecturer in value theory. The University invites applications from candidates who have an outstanding record of research or outstanding research potential in this area.

The Department of Philosophy is known for the high quality of its research and teaching in various areas of philosophy, and there are thriving interdisciplinary links with arts, social and natural sciences, law and medical humanities. In recent years the department has been very successful in attracting grant income and hosts several active research projects and many postdoctoral researchers and teaching fellows as well as permanent staff. The undergraduate community is diverse with many students from other parts of the university as well as a large single honours programme and various taught masters programmes. A significant number of our recent research students have gone on to prestigious postdoctoral positions. Members of the department are also very active in various forms of outreach, public engagement, and media.
