Job description |
The Philosophy Department at Bentley University (Waltham, MA) invites applications for a full-time lecturer position. The position is a non-tenure-track appointment, renewable yearly, contingent upon satisfactory performance and departmental and institutional need. The Department is looking for an instructor to help staff its Introduction to Philosophy course (which must include substantial coverage of ethics) and its normative courses, especially in applied ethics. In a typical semester, the lecturer will teach three sections of Introduction to Philosophy and one section of an applied ethics course (e.g., Business, Healthcare, or Environmental ethics). There may be an opportunity to teach other courses. Completed Ph.D. required by the start date; competitive salary and full benefit package offered. Bentley University is a leader in the fusion of business and arts & sciences education, information technology, and business ethics; the department especially welcomes candidates whose research and teaching builds on these strengths. Bentley is an equal opportunity employer, building strength through diversity. NB: the department is hiring for a lecturer position and a TT/tenured position. Candidates who wish to be considered for both positions must apply to each position separately. |
