Job description

Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Minimum teaching load: four courses/year; graduate and undergraduate; usual dissertation, committee responsibilities. The appointment is expected to begin Fall 2015. AOS: German Idealism. AOC: Open.

PhD preferred by October 1, 2015.

Required elements of the dossier are: cover letter, CV, teaching statement, dissertation abstract, teaching evaluations, research statement, contact information for at least 3 and up to 5 letters of reference, syllabi, and writing sample. Optional elements are an additional writing sample, which may be a publication. All required elements of the dossier must be submitted to the University's Academic Careers website, https://academiccareers.uchicago.edu, posting #02313.

Letters of reference are not required at this stage of the application process. However, letters of reference may be submitted by your referee(s) using one or more of the following methods:
1) through the Academic Careers website (strongly preferred) and/ or 2) by email to: [email protected] with the subject heading GERMAN IDEALISM SEARCH or 3) by mail to: German Idealism Philosophy Search Committee Chair, c/o Amy Schulz, Department of Philosophy, 1115 E. 58th St., Chicago, IL 60637-1511.
