Job description |
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) invites applications for a faculty position in clinical ethics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Primary appointment will be in a relevant department or division with substantial salary support and time commitment to the Center. Joint appointment in the University of Cincinnati Department of Philosophy is possible for candidates with relevant training and experience. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is a facility with nearly 600 registered beds. We are committed to being the leader in improving child health. In Fiscal 2013, we had more than 1.1 million patient encounters and served patients from all 50 states and 53 countries. We rank third in the 2014-15 U.S. News & World Report Children’s Honor Roll with all 10 specialty care areas ranked among the top 10 programs. The Medical Center seeks to expand its resources in clinical ethics. The faculty member is expected to be an active member of the Ethics Committee and Ethics Consultation Subcommittee. He/she will also support specialty areas such as the Fetal Care Center, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and/or Solid Organ Transplant Programs. Candidates are expected to have a terminal degree, MD, PhD, and/or JD, related to bioethics and experience in clinical ethics consultation. Clinicians are expected to demonstrate excellence in patient care. Candidates must also have demonstrated ability to teach at an academic medical center, as well as design and conduct research, and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Experience in pediatrics is desirable. |
