Assistant Professor, Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Philosophy Department of Lewis University, a Catholic and Lasallian University, located 25 miles southwest of Chicago, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Philosophy for a full-time, tenure-track position beginning Fall, 2015. 

A Ph.D. in Philosophy with a specialization in Catholic philosophy is required.  Candidates must be committed to teaching and research related to the Catholic intellectual tradition and Catholic social teachings.  Candidates must have a record of teaching excellence, an interactive and innovative teaching style, a commitment to education of a diverse student population, and to Catholic higher education and the University’s Lasallian Mission.  The candidate must be willing to teach in a department with a continental orientation. 

Duties include teaching four courses per semester with usual non-teaching responsibilities.  Full participation in department, College and University activities is expected.  Summer teaching is a possibility.
