Department: Philosophy Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Department of Philosophy at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a tenure-track position to begin in the fall of 2015. The AOS is metaphysics or epistemology; AOC: open. Faculty members in USFs philosophy department operate out of a wide-range of philosophical traditions, including analytic, continental, and the history of philosophy. Job Responsibilities: Teaching Responsibilities include a 2-2, alternating with a 2-3 load (9 courses over 2 years) with a combination of lower-division and advanced seminars. Core classes have a maximum enrollment of 40 students; upper-division classes generally contain 15-20 students. Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications include a Ph.D. by Fall of 2015 in philosophy; evidence of teaching excellence at the university level accompanied by a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, a promising scholarly research program; a willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment; and an understanding of and commitment to the mission of the University. |
