Job description

The Department of Philosophy at Seattle University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting Fall 2015.

The ideal candidate will have a specialization in one or more of the following: Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, together with a strong background in the history of philosophy, demonstrated teaching excellence, strong scholarly potential, some familiarity with the Catholic intellectual tradition, and the ability to engage with colleagues representing diverse philosophical traditions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses across the curriculum, including the two required philosophy core courses: Philosophy of the Person and Ethics; will maintain a productive research program and provide service to the school/university.

Required:  Ph.D. in Philosophy.
