Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Philosophy
The Department of Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor faculty position, with an expected start date of July 1, 2015. Job responsibilities include teaching 4 courses/year at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and conducting thesis supervision. Area of Specialization and Area of Concentration: open, though the Department particularly welcomes applications from candidates working in Early Modern Philosophy, Metaphysics and Epistemology, Moral and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, or Post-Kantian Continental Philosophy. A Ph.D. or equivalent in Philosophy or a related field is required within one year of the start date. Applicants for an Assistant Professor position must, at a minimum, have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. or equivalent degree except the dissertation at the time of application. Applicants for an Associate or Full Professor position must have a Ph.D. or equivalent at the time of application. At the Associate or Full Professor level, preference will be given to applicants with a distinguished record of research and publication.
