Laurentian University in Sudbury, Canada, and the Centre for Evolutionary Ecology and Ethical Conservation (CEEEC) are pleased to announce a 1-year postdoctoral research position. The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research on the ethics of ecological research under the supervision of Dr. G.K.D. Crozier, Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Environment, Culture, and Values, and Dr. Albrecht Schulte-Hostedde, CRC in Applied Evolutionary Ecology. For a description of the research program under which this position is funded, please see this article: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs11948-014-9558-4#page-1 The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in the activities organized by CEEEC, including team meetings, a speakers’ series, and symposia. Additional responsibilities and opportunities will be tailored to the professional development of the candidate. AOS: Philosophy of Biology, Philosophy of Science, Bioethics, Environmental Philosophy, Decision Theory, or another field relevant to this highly interdisciplinary research project on the Ethics of Ecological Research. Essential: Completed PhD by start date Start date: Negotiable, but summer 2015 or earlier is desirable Term: 1-year Salary: $40,000 Canadian plus 10% benefits and 4% vacation ($45.6 total), plus a generous conference travel stipend.
