Job description |
The Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a Jackson Center Ethics Fellowship. The position is for one year, renewable up to three years. Appointment is effective August 16, 2015. The department seeks a scholar with an active research agenda in ethics or political philosophy in the early stages of his/her career. The candidate’s research should be of interest to the wider campus community and The Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values. (http://www.coastal.edu/jacksoncenter). A Ph.D. in philosophy is required (ABD considered if completed by September 2015). Responsibilities include teaching six courses a year (including one upper division ethics course), contributing to the intellectual life of the community, and participating in the work of the Jackson Center by helping organize conferences and guest speaker visits. In addition, the ethics fellow is expected to be a mentor for the Jackson Scholar students who are part of the leadership program of the Center.
