Job description

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service. The Department of Philosophy seeks applicants for a Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow in Social and Political Philosophy with an emphasis on issues of race. The appointment is for two years.

Job Announcement and Details

The Department seeks a candidate who will teach 3 courses each semester beginning fall 2015. In addition to a course designed by the fellow, he or she would be expected to teach two sections of another typically introductory course each term.

In addition to teaching a 3/3 load, the Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow will enroll in the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning and will participate in the Reinert Center’s Certificate in University Teaching program. The Fellow will also have a Faculty Mentoring Committee of three faculty-members who have specialization in social and political philosophy within the Department. The Mentoring Committee will serve as a resource for the Fellow.
