Job description |
We are seeking a specialist in Environmental Philosophy with demonstrated research expertise in one or more of the following: Environmental Politics, Philosophy of Technology, Climate Ethics, Women and the Environment. We offer a Master’s degree in Environmental Philosophy and the successful candidate may advise graduate students and serve on thesis committees. Expectations include teaching four courses during the academic year. The successful applicant will be expected to continue to engage in scholarly research and to present on their research activity in appropriate campus venues including the department’s philosophy forum. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to become familiar with the university’s and department’s degree requirements in order to assist the department in undergraduate advising activities, as well as participate in additional service to the department, university, and discipline. Missoula is a dynamic community of 67,000 located in the heart of western Montana’s stunning natural landscape. Numerous four-season wilderness and outdoor activities are readily accessible. The city is regularly featured as one of the most livable in the United States and offers a range of cultural opportunities. The University of Montana has a student body of approximately 15,000 undergraduates and graduates, including more than 1,500 students of color and more than 400 international students from more than 70 countries. |
