University of Toronto Scarborough The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a part-time appointment in Philosophy. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer for one year from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. Candidates should have a PhD in Philosophy with an area of concentration in Ethics or Political Philosophy or History of Philosophy. ABDs also may be considered. Previous experience in teaching at the undergraduate level is essential. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position includes teaching and normal service to the department. Our strongest teaching needs are in Ethics and the ability to teach introductory Logic would be an asset. The teaching load is 5 semester-length courses at the undergraduate level (2.5 full course equivalents), three in one and two in the other of the Fall (Sep-Dec) and Winter (Jan-May) terms. Departmental service will be assigned by the Chair. Applications submitted by May 1, 2015 will be assured full consideration.
