Ethics and Applied Ethics (12-Month Lecturer) The Department of Philosophy at UBC is seeking applications for a 12-Month Lecturer in Ethics and Applied Ethics. Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related field. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to teaching, will have a track record of teaching excellence, and will be able to teach a second-year majors-course: Introduction to Moral Theory. The teaching load will also include undergraduate courses in one or more areas of applied ethics (biomedical ethics, business ethics, environmental ethics). The position involves teaching 24 credits (equivalent of eight 3-credit courses, with an expected 3-3 load in the winter session and 2 additional courses in the summer of 2016) and participating fully in student advising, departmental service, events, and initiatives. This 1-year leave-replacement appointment is expected to commence September 1, 2015. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
