Classification: Academic Level D or E Salary package: $128,987 - $159,851 (Negotiable plus 17% Superannuation) This is a full-time, continuing position.
Position overview The School of Philosophy, Research School of Social Sciences, seeks to appoint a continuing position in Philosophy, at either Level D (Associate Professor) or Level E (Professor). This is an opportunity for an outstanding scholar to take up an ongoing research and teaching position in a program with a major international profile and a very strong graduate program. The appointee would be expected to maintain a very strong research profile, to contribute to the teaching program, and to take up leadership positions in the School. Applications are invited in any area of philosophy consonant with work currently being done in the School of Philosophy, though preference will be given to a scholar who works in philosophy of mind. The Research School of Social Sciences particularly welcomes applications from women. The commencing date is negotiable. The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest single College of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 46 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and two ARC Laureates. A hub of vibrant activity, we host more than 100 lectures, concerts and exhibitions each year, most of which are open to the public.
