The University of Virginia's program in Political Philosophy, Policy & Law (PPL) invites applications for one full-time DeOlazarra Fellow for the academic year beginning August 25, 2015, renewable for a second academic year. Renewals are subject to availability of funding and performance. Compensation will take the form of salary and benefits. Applicants must specialize in contemporary political theory/philosophy, particularly as it applies to the evaluation of important issues in public policy. A background in jurisprudence or legal theory is also desirable. PPL is a selective interdisciplinary undergraduate major in which fourth year students develop substantial research projects in the context of a capstone seminar. The fellow will preside over this seminar during the spring semester as well as teach one fall semester course in his or her area of interest. Applicants for the fellowship must have achieved the status of ABD prior to August 1, 2015. Candidates must combine strong research potential with commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
