Job description

The Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Texas invites applications for a lecturer with a broad background in the history of philosophy or religion to teach a wide range of courses.  This is a non-renewable, one-year, fulltime position to start Fall 2015.

AOS: Open.  AOC: Ancient Philosophy, Modern Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, History of Philosophy, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethical Theory.

The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load, including introductory and advanced-level courses.

Required qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in philosophy at the time of appointment and university teaching experience.

Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching Ancient Philosophy, Modern Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Ethical Theory, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Philosophy of Self, Philosophy of Science, World Religions, Religion in American Society -- or equivalent courses.
