The Department of Philosophy consists of the groups Critical Cultural Theory, Logic and Language, Philosophical Tradition in Context and Philosophy and Public Affairs.

Job description

The Faculty of Humanities offers assistant professors the opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers at research institutes that - partly as a result of their multidisciplinary approach - are world-renowned. Our teaching needs include first-year introductory courses in the History of Philosophy and Theoretical Philosophy, and intensive parallel workgroups at BA level. The candidate will thus have demonstrable experience with teaching such courses and workgroups beyond his/her area of specialization.

  • broad teaching experience at BA and MA level;
  • expected to teach introductory BA courses and workgroups in the History of Philosophy and Theoretical Philosophy;
  • a thorough command of Dutch and English. If the candidate's native language is not Dutch, s/he is expected to be able to teach in Dutch preferably in one year and no later than two years.
