Job description

Associate/Full Professor of History and Philosophy of Science

University of Pittsburgh, Department of History and Philosophy of Science, Rank:  Associate or Full Professor of History and Philosophy of Science, tenured, beginning September 1, 2016.  AOS:  Open, but with strong preference for i) History and Philosophy of Physics and ii) History and Philosophy of Biology; AOC: Open. Candidates should exhibit interest in integrating history and philosophy of science as well as in-depth knowledge of the science or sciences relevant to their research.   Four courses per year; graduate and undergraduate advising; usual non-teaching duties.   Applicants should submit a cover letter, a C.V., and the names of at least five individuals who can be contacted by HPS for confidential letters of recommendation through the following URL: https://facultysearch.as.pitt.edu/apply/index/MTE3.
