Job description

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Bonn, Germany, invites applications for a tenured position effective 1st October 2016

W 3 Professorship in Medieval Philosophy

 

 

Candidates should be able to cover the whole range of Medieval Philosophy in research and teaching. This includes knowledge of the relevant connections to Ancient Philosophy, the history of philosophy more generally, and systematic work. In addition, it is expected that candidates be willing and able to participate in interdisciplinary projects in Medieval Studies within the Faculty of Arts, as well as in projects that include other Faculties and that extend beyond the University. Candidates should have high-quality, internationally recognized research achievements and experience in securing outside funding.

This position is filled in accordance with § 36 North Rhine-Westphalian Law on Universities, and requires the German grade of Habilitation or comparable academic achievements. The successful candidate will be expected to relocate his/her main place of residence to Bonn or its immediate vicinity.
