Job description

Philosophy Assistant Professor, full-time, tenure-track beginning September 2016. PhD, or foreign equivalent, is required prior to appointment. AOS: Philosophy of Science. AOC: open. We have teaching needs in philosophy of biology and philosophy of physics, and we welcome candidates whose research actively engages philosophical issues raised by contemporary scientific practice. Topics of interest include, for example, scientific methodology, modeling, experimental practice, engineering, science and values, normative studies related to policy or research ethics, and the social organization of science.

University of Washington faculty engage in research, teaching, and service. Duties include: undergraduate and graduate teaching, dissertation supervision, and department and university service.
