FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Humanities, LaGuardia Community College, seeks to fill two tenure-track faculty vacancy in Philosophy at the Assistant Professor rank with individuals who possess a firm commitment to teaching and research.

In addition to teaching a variety of philosophy courses, responsibilities include working closely with philosophy students, enhancing the development of this unique program, and actively participating in projects within the department and the college. Professional development, publications, and scholarly activities are expected for these tenure-track positions.

Successful candidates will share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degree in Philosophy is required.  Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

The successful candidate will have a record of outstanding teaching and a commitment to educating a diverse student population in an urban public university setting.

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
