Job description

The department of philosophy at Lingnan University, which is one of the strongest in analytic philosophy in Asia, is interested in supporting applications for Hong Kong PhD Fellowships. The department is especially strong in philosophy of science and aesthetics, and also has several members with expertise in core areas such as ethics, epistemology and metaphysics.

The Fellowships provide a yearly stipend of 240,000 Hong Kong dollars (around USD 31,000, GBP 20,000, or EUR 27,000 at the current exchange rates), which is considerably higher than the median local income, in addition to a small fund for research-related travel expenses. They last for three years.

Over the past two years, five applicants we've supported have secured PhD Fellowships.

Those with first class undergraduate degrees are especially encouraged to apply.
