Job description

Informatics I Biomedical Informatics I Applied Ontology Postdoctoral Associate position: The Department of Health Outcomes and Policy is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Associate  to help advance our department's research  in ontology development, evaluation, and implementation in biomedical informatics under the direction of Dr. Amanda Hicks. The Biomedical Informatics Program at the University of Florida is a diverse, collaborative, and interdisciplinary environment that focuses on innovative biomedical  informatics research.

This position is an opportunity to draw upon and contribute to our program's expertise in applied ontology. The successful candidate will have a recent doctorate in philosophy, computer science, biomedical informatics, linguistics, or a related field and will have strong skills in either programming or applied ontology.  Knowledge of or familiarity with applied ontology, semantic web technology, logic, biomedicine, or computational or corpus linguistics is highly desired.  The ability to work independently and solid interpersonal skills in an  interdisciplinary environment.

The designated time frame for the position is two years with the possi bility of renewal , starting as soon as possi ble. Compensation will be based on the NIH post-doc salary guidelines.
