ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY, Tempe, AZ (Job 11367). The School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies invites applications for a full time, tenure-eligible Assistant or Associate Professor in Philosophy with an anticipated start date in August of 2016. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with experience. Areas of Specialization (AOS): Metaphysics and/or Epistemology broadly construed to include Philosophy of Language/Mind. Areas of Concentration (AOC): Open, but the successful candidate will be expected to teach from among the following undergraduate courses: metaphysics, theory of knowledge, symbolic logic, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, history of ancient philosophy, and history of modern philosophy. Required Qualifications *PhD or equivalent in Philosophy or related discipline by time of appointment *Evidence of excellence in teaching *Demonstrated excellent research agenda *Area of Specialization (AOS) in Metaphysics and Epistemology (including philosophy of language and philosophy of mind Desired Qualifications *Expertise in practical or applied philosophy that complements the School’s existing PhD program and its focus on practical and applied philosophy.
