William F. Dietrich Visiting Scholar of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for the William F. Dietrich Visiting Scholar of Philosophy. This is a one semester appointment, open to all professorial ranks, for the Spring 2016 semester. A Ph.D. in Philosophy is required, as are teaching and research experience. Professors on sabbatical from their home universities are encouraged to apply, as are independent scholars. The Scholar will be responsible for two pro-seminar format courses (one graduate and one undergraduate) on topics of his/her choosing. The graduate pro-seminar must appeal to M.A. and Ph.D. students from diverse humanities departments. The Scholar must also make at least one research presentation to college faculty. In addition to salary, enhancement funds are provided for guest speakers, symposia, or other campus events. Applications must include: a cover letter with statement of interests and proposed activities, a current CV, and two letters of recommendation.
